    1. The Grits: Selecting the Perfect Abrasiveness

The effectiveness of a diamond bit depends on its grit, indicated by a colored band around the base of the head. We strongly recommend stocking multiple grits to adjust to varying client skin types:

Grit Level Color Code Characteristics & Use
Soft Red Fine abrasion. Ideal for sensitive skin, refining the final cuticle fold, and general smoothing work on the natural nail plate.
Medium Blue Standard abrasion. The essential workhorse for general cleaning of the lateral folds, standard cuticle removal, and general nail prep.
Coarse Green Heavy abrasion. Best for removing thicker, tougher cuticles or calluses, and for technicians who work quickly. Use with caution on sensitive skin.

Pro Tip: By having different grits of your favorite shapes, you can adjust your technique based on the client's skin sensitivity without changing your method.

    2. Diamond Bits: Cuticle & Prep Mastery

Diamond bits work by exfoliation (scratching/sanding) and are the superior choice for safely preparing the natural nail and performing the intricate steps of the dry manicure:

Bit Shape Specific Function & Preference
Flame/Drop Bits Lifting the Cuticle: Used to gently lift and separate the cuticle from the nail plate, creating the necessary "pocket" for cleaning. Technician Preference: Thicker flame bits are often favored as they feature a less sharp point, minimizing the risk of accidentally cutting the skin. Long and skinny flames come to a sharper point and require extra careful application.
Ball Bits Removing the Cuticle: Used in the final step of the dry manicure to safely and efficiently remove the lifted dead cuticle skin. Technician Preference: Ball sizes vary from very small to very large; most technicians prefer something in the middle range for maximum control and visibility.

    3. Carbide Bits: Rapid Product Removal

Our collection includes numerous shapes of Carbide bits. These tools are engineered to shave away product, making them the fastest option for:

    • Removing bulk material (gel, acrylic, polygel).

    • Removing color gel polish from enhancements before performing the detailed manicure work.

    Quality & Manufacturing

We pride ourselves on the quality and durability of every bit. Our collection includes bits manufactured in Ukraine (STALEKS), Russia, and Poland, ensuring professional-grade materials that resist wear and hold their shape through repeated use and sterilization.

Warning: All of our nail drill bits are designed for professional use and if you do not have experience with them you need to seek professional training. These tools are serious and powerful. You must take the potential for damage seriously while using bits with your clients or on your self. The bit rotates at up to 30,000 rpms which is very fast. Please heed this warning and do not work with nail drill bits if you do not have professional training.
If you have any questions about the bits and uses please feel free to contact but this is not a substitute for professional instruction from a nail tech that is certified by your licensing agency.
