The Complete Luxio Application Guide

Achieving the signature flawless, two-to-three-week manicure with Luxio depends entirely on proper preparation and application technique. Follow this professional three-step process precisely:

Phase 1: Preparation is Non-Negotiable

The success of a Luxio manicure rests on starting with a clean, dry, and perfectly prepped nail plate.

1. Shape: Use a 180-grit file to shape the free edge of the natural nail.

2. Cuticle Care: Gently push back the proximal fold and remove all non-living tissue (invisible cuticle) from the nail plate using a pusher and nippers. Any gel touching skin will lead to lifting.

3. Buffing: Lightly remove the natural shine from the entire nail surface with a 240-grit soft buffer. The nail plate must appear matte.

4. Dehydration & Cleansing: Saturate a lint-free wipe with a cleanser (like Akzentz Prep & Wipe or 99% Isopropyl Alcohol) and thoroughly scrub the entire nail surface to remove all dust, oils, and moisture.

5. Adhesion Aid (Optional): For clients prone to lifting, apply a thin layer of Akzentz Affixit non-acid primer or bonder sparingly to the natural nail plate and allow it to air dry completely.

Phase 2: Building the Luxio System (Base, Color, Top)

The golden rule for all gel application is THIN, EVEN LAYERS CURE COMPLETELY.

Step 1: Apply Luxio Base or Build

Choose the base according to the client's needs: Luxio Base for standard adhesion or Luxio Build for structure and strength.

1. Application: Wipe almost all the product off your brush. Apply a very thin, scrub-like layer, carefully pulling the product from the center out to the sides.

2. Maintain Margin: Keep a tiny margin of untouched nail plate around the entire perimeter (side walls and cuticle) to prevent flooding the skin.

3. Cap the Free Edge: Lightly sweep the base coat across the very tip of the nail to seal the end.

4. Cure: Cure for 30 seconds in a professional LED/UV lamp (Akzentz Hybrid Pro Lamp recommended). Do not wipe the tacky layer.

Step 2: Apply Luxio Color Coat

Luxio's high pigmentation often achieves coverage in two coats.

1. Application: Apply the first color coat thinly, using the same margin technique as the base. Thin coats prevent wrinkling and ensure a complete cure.

2. Cap the Free Edge: Seal the tip of the nail with the color coat.

3. Cure: Cure for 30 seconds.

4. Second Coat: Repeat the process for the second coat, which will achieve full, rich opacity. Cure again for 30 seconds. (Apply a third thin coat if necessary for highly sheer or glitter colors.)

Step 3: Apply Luxio Top Gloss

Seal and protect the manicure with an unparalleled finish.

1. Choose Your Finish:

   • Luxio Gloss: The standard, high-shine top coat that leaves a sticky inhibition layer upon curing.

   • Akzentz Shine-On: The modern, no-wipe top coat for an immediate, glass-like finish.

2. Application: Apply a smooth, even layer across the entire nail surface. Ensure the layer is not too thick to avoid pooling.

3. Final Cap: Cap the free edge one final time to completely seal the color.

4. Cure: Cure for the full recommended time (60–120 seconds for top coats).

5. Cleanse (Only if using Luxio Gloss): If using the standard Luxio Gloss, thoroughly wipe the tacky inhibition layer with a lint-free wipe saturated with cleanser to reveal the final high shine.

Phase 3: Removal and Aftercare

Luxio is a soak-off system, prioritizing nail health during removal. NEVER peel, pry, or force the gel off.

1. Protect Skin: Apply cuticle oil or petroleum jelly to the skin surrounding the nails.

2. Break the Seal: Using a 100/180-grit file, gently but thoroughly file away the entire top coat until all the shine is removed.

3. Soak: Saturate a cotton ball with 100% pure acetone. Place it directly on the nail and wrap it tightly with a small piece of aluminum foil to trap heat.

4. Wait: Allow to soak for 10–15 minutes.

5. Remove: Unwrap one nail. The gel should be soft and flaking. Gently scrape the softened product off the nail plate with an orange wood stick or plastic pusher. If it resists, rewrap and wait another 5 minutes.

6. Hydrate: After removal, wash hands, and immediately apply a nourishing cuticle oil and hand cream to rehydrate the skin and nail plate.
